Got everything done, even Pretty Permalinks! Hooray. All that remains:

* convert all pdfs to html

* make sure links / addresses on old site resolve to new site

* oh, metadata, that’s right, metadata, I like being found, guess I’m an extravert

I had to kill the Twitter badge, which makes me sad, but first it started loading like 47 status updates when I told it only to load one, and then it stopped loading altogether. Will replace it with elegant “Follow me on Twitter” link.

Book reviews and digital humanities commentary coming, plus more metaphors. Can’t wait. I love my new bloggy environment.

Got most of the content, or what we in the biz like to call the “stuff,” imported into the site. Yay. That wasn’t so hard. Next up: blogroll, write About page, compile Citations page (if I decide to keep it), and most of all, figure out what the heck bug is keeping me from my Pretty Permalinks.

I have successfully imported the very few posts I did over at Blogger under the blog title “metaphortitude.” I stopped blogging there because, first, what was I thinking with the theme that dripped flowers, and second, the metaphor conceit got old, and third, I wrote a few things that probably shouldn’t be out there. Also I wanted my own space on my own site, you know how it is. So, here we are, and I’m glad that I managed to import the old posts & comments.

No, I don’t have a little animated pickaxe to show you. I swear it won’t be long before I’m done updating — just started yesterday. Meanwhile, the old site is still wholly available at http://amandafrench.net/index.html.
